The mother of a 13-year old girl gives Steve Ballmer from Microsoft an earful about her experiences with Windows Vista, their latest operating system offering.
I especially love how she appeared to got the final word in when, after Ballmer tried to waffle his way around the situation suggesting the Service Pack 1 would address many of the issues she’d seen, she retorted, “Good, I’ll let you come and install it for me!”
Priceless!

I’m delighted to announce the arrival of Adam Mernin to the world. He is the second son of my brother, John and his wife Julie. He arrived 2 weeks early at 9pm on Thursday, September 28th 2006 at Waterford Regional Hospital, Ireland and weighed in at 6lbs 6ozs.
Yet again, it is just utterly amazing that, there I was sitting at home, and hey presto, I was able to look at a picture of my new nephew on a device that is countless times smaller than he is, literally within minutes of his birth. I mean, did my parents ever dream that such a thing would be possible in their lifetime? I can’t help wondering where technology will be when it is Adams turn to announce the arrival of someone close to him.
Congratulations and well done Julie!

I had reason to drive to Cork city recently to a premises on North Main Street. Not knowing Cork that well, I sought the assistance of a map on the internet and started to look for North Main St. However, I just couldn’t find it and all the references in site search results were useless.
My 70 year old father happened to be in the room at the time and since he grew up in West County Waterford (not a million miles away from Cork), I decided to ask him if, by any chance, he happened to know where North Main Street in Cork was. Here is his reply…
….pause….stare at wall…pause…. “Er, um, No … but I know where North Main Street in Youghal is…”
Priceless (and useless) !!!
